Charles Bell Pavilion
Dead Larch frozen in time
dominating my hospital view,
framed by blue curtains,
a roof and grey sky.
Are you there to test my nerves?
Around you green trees.
yellow gorse on the hill behind.
stiff whitish trunk.
like the dead nerves in my spine.
You will never live again;
Yet all around your dead trunk
others thrive by earth,
sun, water and air.
Reminding me:
There's life in death.
Nerves like trees.
God or whatever is love.
And Larch is forever.
